It was my very first experience on a sailboat and I loved it! It’s so relaxing to be propelled by the wind as you slice through the water. The view was magnificent to look at, whether it was the endless horizon or the skyline of Toronto.

That day, I was glad to be all in white because it was very warm. When the sun is hot like that and I can’t seek refuge in the shade, I prefer to wear a loose, long sleeve shirt made of light cotton and tied at the waist. This way, my shoulders are safe from sunburn while I enjoy the breeze through my shirt.

Thanks to my Capeline and sunnies, I completely enjoyed this splendid afternoon!

Even if the Fedora is currently more popular, I opted for this Capeline made of braided white paper. This hat is perfect for summer because it is light, breathable and practical as it casts a shadow to protect the face and neck from the hot sun. It’s a feminine and timeless hat, and I love the parcels of light created by the sun peering through the braiding!

Playing with Whites

A tone on tone look, with a little twist…

To break the classic perfect all white look, it’s trendy to play with other tones like ivory, cream or light grey. This way, the outfit is more interesting to look at and gives the impression that it wasn’t perfectly planned… and more relaxed.

It’s also really hard to get a 100% perfect all white look! Most of the time, there’s a slight difference between the two pieces. By embracing the different tones, it definitely eliminates the pointless color puzzle!

Soft Trench

It has been cold and rainy in Montreal lately, and this soft trench is the perfect piece to cope with this kind of weather. It’s a light and flexible coat that moves with the body. This one is made of lyocell, a fiber that is soft, durable and comfortable, but still green and biodegradable.

Combined with a striped tee and white pants, this look allows you to adjust to varying weather, while remaining elegant, feminine and relaxed.

I love clothes that you can wear many ways! This dress is a perfect example. It remains pretty with both heels and sneakers. Cendrine, from the Des vertes et des pas mûres boutique, even suggested that I wear it as a tunic with white pants. Sounds good!

I also had so much fun playing with the belt! Because it’s lined with white cotton, which is really easy to place in many ways and create different black and white compositions, the dress’s neckline, back, sleeves and hem are enhanced. I could even wear the belt as a headband or around my neck like a delicate scarf.

Which look do you prefer? The boxy version with sneakers or the more feminine one with heels?

White Sneakers

White sneakers are very trendy right now and we can find them everywhere! But despite this fact, it took me some time to find THE perfect pair.

I was looking for original and comfortable quality shoes that can be worn with almost everything. While searching online, I fell in love with this leather model from this Australian brand called Senso. After careful consideration, I took the plunge! I ordered a pair (something I don’t usually do without knowing my exact size in a brand, especially when it comes to shoes). I’m so glad that I did because these sneakers are absolutely awesome! When I wear them it feels like I am walking on clouds. You can even fold down the back part of the shoes to put them on quickly! Brilliant!

I was lucky and got them on sale, so keep an eye out if you are interested in getting them at a good price. I also did a selection of other styles I love to inspire your next sneaker purchase.

Spring Day

Last Friday was the first pretty day of spring in Montreal, and I didn’t hesitate to put on my leopard espadrilles and go bask in the sun! As you may know by now, I get chilly easily, so I opted for a turtleneck sweater. This one is definitely my favorite. I love how its loose collar can be styled in different ways. Unfolded, it can cover my nose, but I like to fold it inward for a contemporary look, or place it haphazardly for a relaxed and casual look. And, do you remember this blazer? I found it at 70% off last year–what a find! I love its loose fit and it’s definitely a good quality piece which adds elegance to every outfit. To complete the look, I chose a white pant and some caramel and golden accessories to reflect this beautiful spring light!

I couldn’t resist putting a lot of pictures in this post because I love all the details in this look. This shirt, for example, has an absolutely lovely butterfly print! The light fabric made of silk and cotton is perfect for the warmer days, and the loose-fit cut makes it very comfortable as well. The black pant is both feminine and rock with its braiding and metallic details. And finally… this gorgeous jacket. This season, we are seeing a comeback of all things 70’s! Suede and fringes are very trendy and you can find them easily in many boutiques, but this vest is quite phenomenal! If you like the “folk rock” style, it’s a must!

Browse The Kooples boutique on the basement level at Ogilvy’s. You will find all these lovely pieces!

It’s not spring yet, but we definitely can start to prepare for it! For example, this coat is the ideal transitional piece. Worn with a big sweater, a huge scarf, some gloves and a knitted hat, it’s absolutely perfect for the warmer days in March. It’s also superb worn as a vest and combined with a tee, a pant and a pair of pumps. I will show you that look as soon as the weather allows, I promise!

White Like the Snow

I love to wear white all year round. In winter, I opt for more textured pieces like this really warm angora sweater, which is exactly the perfect tint to match both cold (like this blue/green scarf) and warm colors. It goes well with everything, even if I wear it with a white silk blouse. This sweater is absolutely gorgeous with any colorful top as well!
