The Pleated Skirt

Hi everyone!

I hope you’ve had a wonderful summer so far!

I’ve had an extremely busy one, working in three different acupuncture clinics and planning a very special upcoming event: my wedding!!!

I had to reorganize my schedule because I work 12 hours a day during the week and plan my wedding on weekends. Unfortunately, my busy life left me less time to invest in my blog, which makes me sad, but at the same time, I’m extremely happy and grateful to have such a rewarding profession and to be so in love with my fiancé! I assure you that everything will be back to normal after my wedding and honeymoon in September.

Speaking of wedding, I had the chance to go to few ceremonies this summer, and this pleated skirt was just the perfect item! I love the way it makes waves as I walk. It’s a romantic, feminine and elegant item that is also versatile—I love to wear it with heels and a delicate blouse for a special event or dressed down whit a long sweater and my rose gold mules for a romantic dinner with my fiancé.

Sophisticated Women

Do not judge a book by its cover, but…

It’s kind of strange to think that clothes can make us feel completely different! Every time I wear this outfit, I feel like a women. Not in terms of femininity, especially with this androgynous look… but in the way that I really feel like myself. In my opinion, being a women (or a men) is being authentic. It’s to truly know who we are and to be connected with one’s inner self. And this is how these clothes make me feel! Maybe because I’m simple yet sophisticated!

What do you think, do you feel this way sometimes?

By the River

This place by the Saint-Lawrence river on l’Île-des-Soeurs is a well-kept secret! I love to go there at sunset to clear my mind and center myself.

It was also the perfect place to take a few pictures of this splendid dress. The fabric is definitely surprising as the weave seems rough, but as soon as you touch it, you realize how soft and breathable it is.

By belting at the waistline, it enhances the curves of the silhouette. But I prefer to wear it in its simplest form. I’m more comfortable that way and I love to wear casual looks in the summer! The straight cut is currently en vogue in New York and I think we’ll be seeing it more here soon!

You will find this dress and belt at Les Étoffes.

Bal Harbour Shops

The gray days are perfect for shopping! Especially in Bal Harbour near Miami… A wonderful place to window shop among the fountains, palm trees, pools full of fish and lovely fashion boutiques.

Lanterns

I’m never bored when I go to the Chinese lantern exhibition at the Botanical Gardens of Montreal. I go back every year and every time I’m amazed by all the colors! For the occasion, I chose clothes that are very comfortable: a cashemire sweater, stretchy pants and flexible shoes as comfortable as a pair of slippers… Dressed in white, I was amused to see the multicolored bursts of light shining on me throughout the evening!
