It was my very first experience on a sailboat and I loved it! It’s so relaxing to be propelled by the wind as you slice through the water. The view was magnificent to look at, whether it was the endless horizon or the skyline of Toronto.

That day, I was glad to be all in white because it was very warm. When the sun is hot like that and I can’t seek refuge in the shade, I prefer to wear a loose, long sleeve shirt made of light cotton and tied at the waist. This way, my shoulders are safe from sunburn while I enjoy the breeze through my shirt.

Thanks to my Capeline and sunnies, I completely enjoyed this splendid afternoon!

The Girl in Toronto

Recently, Sam and I went to Toronto for a week end. It was for a quick visit, but I really appreciated this town for it’s welcoming inhabitants, contemporary architecture and eclectic boutiques.

We stayed in a charming little hotel: The Beverley. Well located, it has an intimate roof-top terrasse, ideal for the apero. The rooms are very small (–take note my claustrophobic readers) but really comfortable. Considering quality for price, it is an address to remember.

Toronto is located on the shore of Lake Ontario and has many beaches! If you go there, don’t forget your bathing suit and flip flops. But be careful: the sand burns! Sam and I burned our feet while trying to reach the water and it took us a few hours to completely recover! Ouch!!!

Because we are foodies, we went to a renowned restaurant: Canoe. It was divine! I wanted to go there so badly that I overcame one of my biggest fears: vertigo. This restaurant is located on the 54th floor of a Mies van der Rohe building and has a stunning view. It wasn’t easy for me, but it was definitely worth it!

But my favorite moment from this trip was our sailboat excursion on Lake Ontario. The view was superb and, because this lake is so large, it felt like I was on the sea! I’m saving some pictures for my next post!

The Grand Café Orient

The Grand Café Orient, in Prague, is practically a museum. It’s the only surviving Cubist interior in the world. The architecture, furniture, decor and light fixtures, created in 1911 by the architect Josef Gočár, were faithfully restored in 2002. It’s definitely a fascinating place to slowly savor an espresso while contemplating every decorative detail!

Cubism was an art movement initiated by Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso. It was reflected in painting, sculpture, architecture, design and literature, and inspired avant-garde artists, like Le Corbusier!

The Girl in Prague

Sam (the man behind the lens) and I were in Prague last week to record an orchestra as part of his work. We were fortunate to have so many unforgettable moments with friends and very talented people! While we were in this magnificent city, we also took the opportunity to take in the sights!

What fascinated me the most in Prague was that, while the sun made its way across the sky over the course of the day, the colors of the city changed. And because the architecture was beautifully and intricately ornamented, the light seemed to play in the most wonderful way!

I also adored the spectacular view of the city’s rooftops from Petrin Hill, the walks by the Vltava River and the moments of rest in beautifully conserved coffee shops, decorated in glorious styles from Prague’s various eras.

In only a few days, I got an eyeful! And this, I hope, was only the first of many visits to Prague!

1 Dress… 4 Styles!

This is the perfect double layer dress to take on a trip! It’s extremely light, loose and comfortable. Best of all, it can be worn in multiple ways. It comes in 2 parts: the base dress and a little top to wear over it which gives the outfit a boxy look. I like the dress’s V back when worn alone. I also love pairing the cute top with shorts. This dress is really fun to mix and match with other items from your suitcase!
