All Black Basics

I love bold looks made from basic pieces.

Here are charcoal rip-kneed skinny jeans worn to contrast the formal style of a wool turtle neck, and a long boiled wool cardigan, tied at the back, to stay stylish on a cool fall day.

A head to toe all black look can be very interesting if you play with different dark tones. Blending black, charcoal and anthracite is always a good idea!

You will find these basics at Tiger of Sweden Montreal.

Suited Up

This is the first suit to be showcased on my blog! I know that many of you work in an office, so I thought it was overdue…

Even if Tiger of Sweden offers an excellent selection of classic and formal blazers, I opted for one that is characterized by its cut and originality. I contrast the black suit with a white shirt to highlight the surprisingly high cut at the back of the blazer. It would also be stunning with a colorful high waisted skirt!

Black and white… It’s definitely the easiest and most elegant combo. Add any accessories to it and you’re done! I could easily live with a monochrome closet… it would definitely simplify my mornings.

For this look, I opted for a pretty trapeze cut shirt with black buttons. These kinds of little details definitely enhance a classic piece. Because of the top’s loose cut, I balanced the look with black fitted pants.

All accessories are allowed with a black and white outfit! I chose a python printed pouch and shoes to stay in the monochrome palette, en vogue more than ever this season!

The shirt and pants are exclusively available at Tiger of Sweden Montreal!

Tiger of Sweden

If you don’t know Tiger of Sweden yet,  you should definitely go by and check it out–especially if you are in need of suits or office wear! They have some classic pieces but also stylishly original ones, for both men and women, that you won’t find elsewhere. You will also be able to pick up some quality basics, such as t-shirts, sweaters, jeans, scarves, coats, shoes and accessories.

This Swedish brand is more than 100 years old and has prospered through the years because of its quality fabrics, fine stitching and fitted cut. Sam loves this brand and owns a few blazers that he wears almost every day… even on vacation!  They are still in good shape and he receives compliments on them all the time!

It’s definitely an address to add to your favorites! In Montreal, we are lucky to have one of the two only flagship stores in Canada that opened it’s doors almost 6 years ago!

Soft Trench

It has been cold and rainy in Montreal lately, and this soft trench is the perfect piece to cope with this kind of weather. It’s a light and flexible coat that moves with the body. This one is made of lyocell, a fiber that is soft, durable and comfortable, but still green and biodegradable.

Combined with a striped tee and white pants, this look allows you to adjust to varying weather, while remaining elegant, feminine and relaxed.

Plum Is the New Black

I really love to wear these colors together. I think that deep plum is one of the best alternatives to black. It goes pretty well with any color that contains pink tones, like this silk shirt and this coat which I love a lot!

November Stripes

When it’s cold outside, I love having fun with my coats and styling them in different ways. By pulling my sleeves back, it’s easy to add an original touch to a simple black coat. Also, let me introduce you to my first pair of rain boots ever! It took me some time to find the perfect pair because I have flat feet and I like coziness when it comes to shoes. This pair is perfect for me, especially the parts that cover the calves because they are flexible and ideal for long walks in the rain!

1 Dress… 4 Styles!

This is the perfect double layer dress to take on a trip! It’s extremely light, loose and comfortable. Best of all, it can be worn in multiple ways. It comes in 2 parts: the base dress and a little top to wear over it which gives the outfit a boxy look. I like the dress’s V back when worn alone. I also love pairing the cute top with shorts. This dress is really fun to mix and match with other items from your suitcase!

Polka Dots

I love everything polka doted and I sincerely think that dots are a modern and sober alternative to leopard prints, which are currently en vogue. It’s interesting to play with patterns and to match accessories… But not to be too “matchy matchy”, I like to break up the look with stripes! What do you think?

Flowered Dress

The breeze from the river and the light of September… There is no better way to feel the last moments of warm weather than by wearing a pretty flowered dress which dances in the wind! And because it’s never safe to wear a light outfit at this time of the year in Montreal, I brought a scarf with me… But in the shade, it wasn’t enough! My gentlemanly boyfriend offered me his wool scarf, and I think that the look of layering scarves is very pretty! What do you think?
