Taking Flight

Hehe… It makes me feel strange to show you this drawing! As a teenager, I drew all the time. But before starting this a few weeks ago, I was nervous… I wondered if I still had this talent. Imagine, I hadn’t drawn for 15 years! But after few minutes of sketching, I reconnected with this old passion and fell in love all over again!

So, I’m just going to go for it. My challenge is to do as many creative things as I can. And I would like to share them with you on this blog! What do you think?

The Grand Café Orient

The Grand Café Orient, in Prague, is practically a museum. It’s the only surviving Cubist interior in the world. The architecture, furniture, decor and light fixtures, created in 1911 by the architect Josef Gočár, were faithfully restored in 2002. It’s definitely a fascinating place to slowly savor an espresso while contemplating every decorative detail!

Cubism was an art movement initiated by Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso. It was reflected in painting, sculpture, architecture, design and literature, and inspired avant-garde artists, like Le Corbusier!

Van Gogh

What an amazing place! This urban art site was created in conjunction with the Van Gogh exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. I was very surprised when I arrived because I realized that from one point of view, the pointillism patterns were blue, and from another perspective, they were red and orange. We had a lot of fun making this photo shoot and we are very happy with the result! I particularly love the contrast between the shades of gray of the outfit and the colors of the street art!
